2019 EFFIE COLLEGIATE BRAND CHALLENGE,
PRESENTED BY SUBARU OF AMERICA
Now in its 8th year, the Effie Collegiate competition engages
tomorrow’s marketers by providing undergraduate and
graduate students with the opportunity to address business
challenges for real clients using Effie’s method of assessment
for measuring effectiveness.
This year’s competition was sponsored by Subaru of
America, a multiple Effie Award-winning brand with agency
partner Carmichael Lynch, including a 2019 Effie for their
“Subaru Crosstrek – Amazon Infiltration” campaign. Subaru
also made the shortlist for Effie’s 5 for 50 competition, which
honored the most enduringly effective brands globally over
the past half century.
The Subaru Brand Challenge tasked students across the
United States with developing non-traditional, integrated
marketing campaigns to reinvent the experience of buying
a new car, with a target audience of Millennials and Gen-Z.
Qualifying entries were judged by experienced marketing
professionals from various disciplines across the industry.
After several rounds of judging, submissions were narrowed
down to a group of six semi-finalists. The Subaru brand
team assessed the semi-finalist entries and narrowed the
competition down to two finalists:
Each year, Effie Collegiate partners with an Effie-winning brand to brief students on a real marketing challenge, supporting Effie’s mission to lead, inspire and champion that
practice and practitioners of marketing effectiveness at every stage of their careers. For more information about Effie Collegiate, visit www.effie.org.
