The Yellow Pages are dead, or so is said. With a devastating decline in
share of possession and usage, the Super YellowPages were fighting
a tough battle in a commodity category. SuperYellowPages
added something to its printed directories that competitors lacked
and that consumers want: the confidence of a guarantee. With
the new SuperGuarantee, the company backed the services of
its advertisers and gave consumers a reason to keep and use the
Super YellowPages. As a result, the company saw the first increase
in share of possession and usage in five years.

Miller High Life endeavored to steal Budweiser’s thunder during
the Super Bowl despite Budweiser having event exclusivity and a
budget 55 times that of High Life’s during the game. High Life
sought to make an economic statement by bringing common
sense back to the Super Bowl. The “One-Second Ad” creative
idea was rooted in media innovation and successfully leveled
the playing field by sparking media wildfire. High Life volume
growth during the Super Bowl far exceeded competitors, and the
campaign generated significantly more buzz following the
game than Budweiser.
It’s nice to create work we not only like, but also produces results. At TM Advertising, we’re proud
to win Effies this year for Group Health and SuperMedia, two of our many clients who “get it.”
